Oxenfree ending meaning9/5/2023 ![]() ![]() This theory is somewhat underwhelming I'd take a smart, logical explanation over pseudo-scifi bs any day but that's all I've got.Įxactly. If I were to make a guess here I'd say that since game relies heavily on the concept of eternal recurrence - according to which world as we know it will occur infinite amount of times albeit with slight changes - Alex's conciusness is simply moved to a different universe. I mean, even if you go the sacrificial way (sealing the tear and leaving Alex on the other side, theoretically doomed to share crew's fate) she still ends up on the ferry withother survivors. If not in the letters then maybe somewhere else? Seems weird to make her a code writer and then have no codes left by her.Originally posted by Volatile Schemer:I don't think I've seen a feasible explanation so far. Maggie mentions she was a code writer in one of them so I don't think its too far of a reach to say that she left a code somewhere in her letters. One theory that I have is that there is a secret code in the Addler letters. I feel there are still secrets to be uncovered in this game and would love to have discussions on where or what they might be. I also collected all the letters and got all the anomalies. Michael was still in town and Clarissa had moved to New York to study English but was thinking of dropping out. Is this a Stanley Parable illusion of choice or do you think that these choices actually matter? Are there other endings? Maybe only possible on subsequent playthroughs?įor me, I did (3) and the (A), I didn't make a deal with the ghosts and I ended up with everyone alive, both Clarissa and Michael alive. The only thing that seems to change is the relationships with the people you had on the island, their backstories, and whether or not Michael and/or Clarissa is alive. So it seems that none of these choices matter and you always just end up waking up on the boat. On the other hand, the end scene is you just waking up on the boat. Then if you made the deal with the ghosts at the bridge trolley area how does this affect these choices? Then within each one of these choices there are the choices you make inside the cave.Ī) Convince them to become friendly (I'm guessing you had to find at least some of the Addler letters to make this possible, but maybe not)ī) You could exit through the portal on the left side of the screenĬ) You could close the portal using your radio How do you think this affects the end? There are so many different ways you could do the ending part.ġ) you could ignore the tape thing and continue through the door bringing Jonas with you.Ģ) you could spin up the tape and then continue through the door without using your radio to "clear up the sound" (leaving Jonas behind?) (this may be the same as 1 or 3 depending on if Jonas comes with you)ģ) you could spin up the tape and then use your radio to "clear up the sound" causing Jonas to disappear and then head through the door. I'd be really interested in hearing from someone who chose this to see how that affects the end.Īlso did everyone do the last tape thing for Jonas? I noticed you could spin it up and still continue through the door. I've not seen anyone who closed the portal with their radio. ![]() Right amount of spookiness for me as I'm normally not really into scary games. Just beat it! It was awesome! I really enjoyed it.
